Strength & Core

Resistance bands are a great first step to taking your bodyweight exercises to the next level. They come in a range of materials and strengths and are very affordable. Try these ones out for size if you plan on following along with me on a workout or two!

Strength & Balance

These straps are by far my most favorite functional and bodyweight exercise tool. You can take them anywhere and they can be attached to the wall, a door, around a tree, on a car. An exerciser at any level will benefit from using these.

Stability & Core

Stability balls are a great way to work on functional or bodyweight work. They come in a few different sizes, but generally the larger ones can be used for most people. Make sure you fill just shy of full so that its not over filled.

Cardio & Core

Jump ropes are amazing because they are small, lightweight, and you can take them anywhere for your cardio. Alternatively, walking pads are great especially for those who work at home to stay active and get those steps from indoors without a high cost of a treadmill.

Support

Exercise mats are a great essential to take with you so you have a clean and cushioned surface to stretch or workout on! They range in width and texture but the best ones allow a firm grip despite the sweat.

Flexibility & Mobility

Blocks and straps are great for both beginning and advanced stretching techniques or yoga poses. Cork blocks provide the best support due to their firmness and durability.

Flexibility & Therapy

This is a deep tissue technique that massages the muscle and connected fascia. They vary in firmness and textures. Beginners should start with a softer roller, while advanced users may prefer a harder texture or raised projections for deeper tissue work.

Deep Release

Vibrational technology is also available for myofascial release and deep tissue muscle work. These are more expensive but target the muscle much deeper. There are a variety but my favorites are the hand held with different attachments or vibrational foam roller.
